Monopoly: Here & Now
Hey, if you haven't heard, head over to Monopoly.com and vote. Hasbro is releasing a newer, more updated version of Monopoly. It'll feature airports (LAX, Chicago O'Hare, etc.) instead of railroads, higher denominations of money, more modern versions of "Chance" and "Community Chest" cards, along with a completely redone property system. Instead of Atlantic City landmarks dotting the board, it will be replaced with landmarks across the nation.
What landmarks? Well, that's what the voting is for. Until May 12th, people can vote daily on their choice of city landmarks throughout the United States. The voting will decide what landmarks will replace ol' Boardwalk and Baltic.
Personally, I think it's kind of fun to see what landmarks are being offered. White House? Check. Golden Gate Bridge? Check. Disney World? You bet.
For those of us that still like the old school game, it'll still be offered for nostalgic purposes. But the "Here and Now" edition of the game will supposedly become the mainstream version of Monopoly in years to come.
